a few thoughts: yushh has quickly become one of my favourite producers working today. through projects like 2023’s look mum no hands ep and now her most recent project full body axy, she’s establishing herself as one of the most exciting techno / dubstep artists out. the 6-track project is full of incredible dense, bass-heavy compositions that are intense, at times disorienting, but always dynamic and engaging. the heavy basslines on “petty vengeance” wobble and meander throughout the synths and vocal chops, while “the occ” has this dynamic and haunting groove that is menacing throughout, and is one of the highlights for me. the jittery and restless self-titled track has these overwhelming, industrial sounding basslines that pierce through the track, while “mos def” has colourful synths and melodies that bring a light, soulful quality. “to be misled” closes the ep out with a tribal, restless energy that makes it another favourite on the project. it’s a fantastic, thumping project that showcases her talents poginantly.
