a few thoughts: talented producer scott xylo has been releasing futuristic, psychedelic music for well over a decade now. from his immersive and trippy 2018 debut album find us when u get there to his psychedelic and ambitious 3-part myths of the space wizard album (part three is yet to come out but excited for it), he’s always experimenting and pushing boundaries. he is also a sick beatmaker. [w]ork flo[w] is a short 3-track ep with punchy, funky and jazzy hip-hop instrumentals that meander between oddboy ten vocal samples (on” “workflow_76”) booming bass-heavy beats and atmospheric synth-led melodies that feel like a warm embrace. it’s also the first release on scott’s new label, neo-trip records, which is a space where he’ll release music under a diverse roster of different monikers, personas, collabs, one-man bands, and genres. and i’m really excited to see this vision come to life!
