Music: Valley Hi! – Valley Hi!

Taiwan-based indie rock band Valley Hi! come through with a brand new self-titled EP. Their compositions are sweet, playful and engaging, with incredible basslines, guitar grooves and infectious drumming throughout.

“Indie King” kicks the project off with almost psychedelic guitar leads, with a dreamy and ethereal tone, with lead singer Jason Li providing some stellar vocals over a drum-heavy beat. “Rainy Night” is an incredible instrumental cut, with gorgeous guitar leads and bass grooves that provide a gorgeous melody and beautiful tone to the track. “Star” and “Doors” are two 9-minute tracks that are meditative with their grooves and infectious, muddy and super psychedelic and menacing electric guitars throughout. The groovy and soulful melodies throughout are stunning, as they remind me of something off a Pink Floyd album. Overall, Valley Hi! come through with an excellent new project that sees them create mesmerizing, psychedelic melodies that bring such incredibly moody and ethereal tone throughout. An excellent body of work!
