The Day Goes are a London-based trio comprised of Dario Rossetti-Bonell on guitar, loops & FX, Yusuf Ahmed on drums and Dave De Rose on bass and FX. Together, they have released a beautifully textured and layered new project titled The Day Goes EP.
With slow-paced, moody and intricate guitar leads, drumming and percussion throughout, this is a beautifully textured project with many highlights. The opener “Sugar Coat” is a mystical track, with meandering guitar leads and hypnotic drumming. “Outside” and “Better Pill” are similarly moody and ethereal tracks, with guitar leads that sound meditative and almost Middle Eastern inspired. The gorgeous arpeggios on “Ol’ Bill” are stunning as well, while the slower-paced tone is beautiful. The visceral energy of “The Calling” is quite different to the rest of the album, with screeching and heavy percussion that dominates the sound of this track in particular. “Whole Picture” closes the EP beautifully with a moody, reflective track that perfectly captures their aura as a group. Overall, The Day Goes have released a stellar project with intricate, emotive and ethereal guitar leads, percussion and drumming. A beautiful EP that deserves to be supported!
