Music: Greentea Peng – RISING

London-based soul singer Greentea Peng has come through with a brand new project titled RISING. The EP is 6 tracks and under 20 minutes in length, as she brings a soulful, rhythmic and highly addicting sound that perfectly complements her aesthetic.

The beat on the opening track “Risin'” is crazy, with a driving beat, percussive grooves and an ethereal aura throughout with the subtle synth leads throughout the track. Her vocals are beautiful throughout as well. “Inna city” is another mellow track with an off-kilter beat, percussion and synths that add texture and mysticism to the track. “Saturn” and “Liberation” are two gorgeous, melodic tracks with colourful beats and an amazing vocal performance from the talented musician. The thumping beat on “Sane” is terrific, while the jazzy undertones on “Mr. Sun (miss da sun)” make is a soulful, melodic and stunning moment. Overall, the eclectic and off-kilter production and Greentea Peng’s husky and fantastic vocal performances throughout, make RISING a terrific EP and one I’ll definitely be playing for a while.
