Music: GoGo Penguin – Ocean In A Drop (Music For Film)

Manchester-based trio GoGo Penguin have released a brand new project titled Ocean In A Drop (Music For Film). With gorgeous piano and synth-led melodies and engaging, energetic compositions throughout, this project is a reflective listen.

The piano-led compositions on “Time-Lapse City” is fantastic, with basslines and infectious rhythms to the music. “Control Shift” is a rhythmic track, with piano keys and synths complementing the groovy bass and beat of the record. The same can be said about “Four Corners” as well. “Ocean In A Drop” and “Nessus” are two more reflective listens, with more emphasis on the lavish piano compositions, especially on the latter track with takes me on a slow, heavy journey through a soundscape that is evocative and highly reflective. Overall, this release is great, made with true heart and soul. The chemistry between the three members is great, while the tone throughout is one full of love, really bringing a heartwarming energy.
