LA-based musician YUNGMORPHEUS has come through with a brand new project titled A GLIMPSE OF POWER. Being a fan of his music for a few years now, I was excited to hear more new releases from the talented artist. This new project if his is soulful and experimental, showcasing his skills as a talented producer.
The 12 track project starts off with “weedwillalwayswin,” which has an infectious break, groovy basslines and synths throughout that add an ethereal texture to the project. The soul sample on “truting” is sublime, with angelic keys and strings throughout that add a gorgeous tone and feel to the track. The hard-hitting boom-bap tone on “invisible maze” is another highlight on this project, with a stellar verse that flows brilliantly throughout the gorgeous beat. The sample on “in the streets” is beautiful as well, evoking a nostalgic and upbeat feel to it that perfectly captures the essence of this album. Overall, YUNGMORPHEUS exceeds expectations again with a terrific project full of fantastic highlights.
