Music: Autumn Keys – Harvest II

Colorado-based producer Autumn Keys comes through with a brand new album titled Harvest II. This is my first introduction to the talented musician and I’m impressed by the colourful and textured beats he’s able to compose throughout this project.

The album kicks off with “Intro” and “Psilocybin,” with the latter track being this grand, synth-heavy composition that is backed by heavy, trap-influenced drums as well as percussion throughout, giving this track a raw and fantastic all around vibe. The silky and smooth synth leads and melodies on tracks like “Apranihita” and “CR5” are gorgeous and melodic, bringing this captivating and beautiful energy. The dance-heavy tone on “For Good” is fantastic and the boom-bap production on “Brace” is great as well, really bringing this thumping, heavy vibe. “Insomnia” is an engaging, synth and key heavy track featuring vocals from Chris Wright, while “In Passing” features Septober, who’s instrumental contribution is stellar. Overall, this is an intricate and well produced album that showcases Autumn Keys’ talents as a producer and beatmaker, so I’ll definitely be listening to this for some time still.
