Music: TEK.LUN – Dweeb

Baltimore, Maryland producer TEK.LUN has come through with a brand new album titled Dweeb. Having released some excellent projects in the past with Blood EP and ALLOW IT!, it’s safe to say that I was anticipating this album.

16 tracks in length, TEK.LUN is able to meander between soulful, intricate electronic compositions and more hard-hitting bangers. Tracks like “your reaction” are filled with synth-heavy melodies and a bass-heavy beat that’s incredibly groovy. “Yoplait” features this gorgeous soul vocal sample, while “158 4mi” also has a chopped up soul sample that’s just brilliant. “801 Truth Teachers” is one of my favourite beats on the album, with a gorgeous Rhodes melody that’s just infectious, with a groovy bassline, drum claps and synths throughout that give it this ethereal quality. The production on “Rock” has heavy boom-bap vibes, while the electronic synths on “Lonely Loss” end the album off in a colourful and memorable way. TEK.LUN keeps everything raw on his new release, just like his previous albums, and it’s great seeing him kill it so consistently.
