Music: TEK.LUN – Blood EP

Baltimore-based producer TEK.LUN is back with a new 5-track project titled Blood EP. The deep basslines and smooth synths provide for an upbeat, engaging listen, something the talented artists has been able to do on other releases such as ALLOW IT! which came out early last year. He does not disappoint on this EP one bit.

The opening track “Beaucoup” features rapper Mick Jenkins, who comes through with a usually stellar verse. The heaviness and aggression from his production is something that can be felt on “Hope This Beat Dies,” with its swirling synths and bass-heavy beat that just takes centre stage. With subtle vocal snippets and off-kilter sound effects, this track is definitely a highlight. “Sleeeep” features an equally hard-hitting beat but features some more atmospheric synths that really bring out the eclectic character of TEK.LUN’s music. “Jabberjaw Jungle” is a crazy closer to the project, with warped synths and sound effects that sound bonkers. The dark energy all over this record is what makes it an excellent one, and I can’t wait to hear what TEK.LUN has coming up next.
