Music: SAULT – 5

This album right here came out waaaaaaay back in May of this year, but I’ve seen it pop up on my timeline a few times over the last couple of days, plus I believe they’re releasing a new project soon. I’m talking about the band SAULT and their album titled 5. Not much is known about this band, and not much is needed. Their music is groovy, funky and infectious.

At 14 tracks and 41 minutes long, this album is a pretty varied and exciting release, with hard-hitting basslines and synths throughout. The first track “Up All Night” sets the tone of the album, with ethereal, mystic vocals adding to the guitar and bass-driven melody. The percussion on tracks like “Foot on Necks” are tribal and brilliant, while the incredible guitar melodies on tracks like “Masterpiece” and “We Are the Sun” bring a light, soulful tone to the album. The musicianship between the members is excellent, as they come together and are able to create a moody, brilliant and ethereal sounds throughout. Overall it’s a cohesive body of work, and I can’t wait to listen to their upcoming releases.

Listen to SAULT’s new album 5 below via Spotify and don’t forget to support! Released via Forever Living Originals.
