Music: Sharky – Fruit EP

London-based musician Sharky comes through with a terrific new project titled Fruit EP. The soulful, guitar-driven project is a captivating one, with beautiful melodies and a raw aesthetic that just sounds incredible.

The 6 track project starts off with gorgeous horn compositions on “Intro,” and explodes into like on “Fruit,” with Sharky providing playful vocals to an infectious track, rich with synths and groovy basslines throughout. The track’s energy and funky aura is fantastic, as is the aura on tracks like “Touch” and “Romanian Moths,” with their upbeat rhythms featuring wailing synths, basslines and a powerful, ethereal vocal performance from the talented singer. On the latter track, the cacophonous sound of the intense horn section, drumming and heavy guitars in the background make for a high-tempo release, one which is absolutely brilliant. “Two Armies” is more of a guitar-driven track, with laid back synths and a gorgeous melody, making it one of my favourites on the album. The vocals on “Outro” are a perfect way to end this pretty stellar EP. Fantastic melodies, captivating compositions and brilliant vocals as well. Good stuff!
