I mean, what is there to say about legendary musician dego that hasn’t been said? The musically eclectic London-based musician has come through with his third full-length album Too Much, a beautiful electronic release full of infectious, funky rhythms and hypnotic grooves that are infectious and perfect for dancefloors all around the world.
Featuring a plethora of talented singers, Too Much is full of soulful moments, with vocal contributions that are stunning and memorable. The album kicks off with “A Strong Move For Truth” featuring Nadine Charles, who brings soothing, soulful vocals, backed by synths and percussion that brings a hypnotic vibe to the record. This same energy can be found throughout the album, on tracks such as “Remini Dream” featuring Ivana Santilli and “I Don’t Wanna Know” featuring Obenewa. The soothing synths, funky guitar and bass leads bring such infectious melodies that are just catchy. “Unknown Vaults” and “You Are Virgo” are other rhythmic, instrumental gems. “My Standards Are (Not) Too High” ends the album off with a near 9-minute masterpiece, with layered and textured percussion, as well as guitar leads and basslines that bring stellar grooves, really bringing a vibrant end to an incredible album. There’s so much more I can say about dego, his music and his legacy, but I’ll let the music do the talking. It’s a terrific album that deserves all the love it can get.
