Music: RuptureLDN – Mars

RuptureLDN is a London-based label and night in London run by co-founders Mantra and Double O. They have released a few tapes over the summer dedicated to planets. Mars is a 3-track EP consisting of tracks from Double O, Gremlinz & Jesta and Effra , all of which are terrific tracks that brilliantly capture a dark and rhythmic tone to the dance-heavy music being released.

The maddening sound of Double O’s “Martian Soul” brings drum n bass to the forefront, with crazy, high-tempo energy that just does not stop. Gremlinz & Jesta bring head-knocking energy on “Recourse,” with hard-hitting and menacing beats and electronic effects and synths that add texture to the crazy production. Effra’s more mellow, synth-heavy tone on “In Breaks We Trust” is still hard-hitting, but the focus is more on the ethereal sound of the synths that provide a mesmeric soundscape. Overall, a great collection of tracks. Big ups RuptureLDN!
