Music: Faye Meana – Shades Of A Dreamer

Faye Meana is a London-based singer and Shades Of A Dreamer is her brand new project. I don’t know much about this young musician, but all I can say is, she’s incredibly dope!

With smooth, synth-heavy production throughout the 5 tracks, Faye is able to deliver incredibly smooth vocals that sound incredibly emotive throughout. “The Truth” is a gorgeous opener, with a guest feature from Mugun, who delivers a stellar verse. The guitar leads and synths on “Why” are beautiful, adding texture to the instrumental and allowing Faye to sing her heart out. “What You Wanna Do” is an incredible neo-soul track, with drumming that sounds like some Soulquarians production. The upbeat tempo of “Unrequited Love” is incredibly catchy too, as it oozes soul with the guitar leads, drumming and synths that give the track an aura and mood that I absolutely adore. “In The Evening” is another stellar, upbeat track that does everything right. The groove is fantastic, Faye’s vocals as well. She does amazing throughout this EP, being able to craft a sound that sounds soothing, soulful and full of raw energy. I love it!
