London based producer dwyer comes through with his brand new project titled Nolo. With lush synths and gorgeous textured production throughout, this is a lush and soulful body of work that exceeds expectations.
From the angelic, string section on “Olympus” the album takes a dive into a futuristic, emphatic and experimental tone with a hard-hitting beat switch and unsettling synths and electronic effects adding to the overall aura and groove of the track. “555” features Destiny X, as she oozes soul with her gorgeous vocal performance over a smooth instrumental. “Bouncingtons” features Osquello delivering a stellar verse as he usually does over a synth and percussion-heavy beat that sounds almost tribal. The off kilter production on “Things Will Probably Get Better From Here” makes it one of my favourite tracks on here, while the garage inspired “Boulevard” brings the energy up with a high-paced beat over smooth keys and an ethereal tone throughout. The same energy is kept on “Pitter Patter,” which features a pretty fantastic verse from Kirby Forest. “Dropcorn” and “Whts Rly Goin’ On” are excellent tracks to end this album out, with hard-hitting Dilla-esque drumming that’s complemented by gorgeous keys and synths to give the track a smooth, soulful and stunning vibe. Overall this is an excellent project and one worthy of all the support!
