Tokyo-based beatmaker Fitz Ambro$e comes through with an excellent new project titled Creative Network. Having been a fan of his for years now, and being a highly influential part of the emerging and thriving Japanese scene, I was excited to listen to this 19 track album, and as expected, it didn’t disappoint one bit.
From the smooth and soulful samples on tracks like “Audo” and “Bobby” which start off this project excellently. Fitz Ambro$e’s sample game is top tier as he exemplifies this on tracks such as “Like What You Do,” “Dolo,” “Musicc” and “Tha Drop.” The latter two feature some funky, soulful samples that are complemented brilliantly with hard-hitting beats and an ethereal, tone through synths and keys. “Five Five Six” features DJ SCRATCH NICE, with a Westside Gunn ad-lib and gorgeous, melodic keys that bring such a soothing, relaxing mood to the record. “No Rush” and “Tempararily” are two funky ones, making them one of the more upbeat tracks on the entire album. “Home Now” ends the project with a beautiful guitar driven melody, one I absolutely love and wish was longer. Overall though, Fitz Ambro$e came through with an excellent body of work, one I’ll be listening to for a while.
