Music: Teotima – Remixed

Talented London-based band Teotima have released a brief but important remix EP from their excellent 2019 project Weightless. The sweet, soulful project features a plethora of musical highlights, but the track remixed is the fourth on their fantastic album, “But I Can’t.”

The soulful, guitar and horn-heavy track is stunningly beautiful. K15 and Soundspecies come through with their own house and dance-heavy remixes. K15’s version of “But I Can’t” features a groove-heavy house beat, with Ellie Rose Rusbridge’s gorgeous vocals being interpolated within the instrumental. The synths are soulful, and the track overall is fantastic. Soundspecies’ remix features more a similar house beat, but the emphasis here is on the stunning synth leads and tribal percussion that are at the heart of this gorgeous track. The way Ellie’s vocals are chopped and used is fantastic and exemplifies both of the producer’s talents.

Listen to Remixed, Teotima’s remix EP featuring K15 and Soundspecies reworks of “But I Can’t” below via Bandcamp. They are terrific and deserve to be supported! Released via First Word Records.
