29th November 2018. The Finsbury, North London. J.A.E steps on stage to perform a few of her songs ‘At The Soiree,” Emerald Live’s best of 2018 showcase of artists. The event featured my friends Billy Dukes and Tinyman, and it introduced me to new singers, one of them being J.A.E. As she started singing, she blew me away with the clarity and strength of her vocal performance. I knew I would eventually write about her music, so I’m happy to say that the wonderfully talented R&B singer has released a brand new single titled “Poison” featuring rapper Dotty.
The new single features stunning synth leads and a groovy melody backed by drums and J.A.E’s phenomenal vocal performance. In the video, J.A.E come to the aid of a fellow female, passing on a pair of truth revealing glasses, exposing her dates for what they really are … Poison. Relationships really can be toxic, and J.A.E’s ability to convey emotion and confidence is infectious and rather awesome. Dotty’s verse speaks from a man’s perspective, as someone who feels a certain way for being painted with the same brush as the man in the song and video. I really hope this is a lead up to some sort of new project because she’s has heaps of talent and a whole lot of potential to be great.
Listen to and watch J.A.E’s new track and video for “Poison” below and don’t forget to support and show love!
