Music: Bxris Bekka – Clubheimromantik 2

Bxris Bekka are Alex Becker and Boris Maschmeyer, two talented German musicians who have released a stellar new album titled Clubheimromantik 2. This is my first introduction to the talented duo, and I’m immediately impressed by the smooth and soulful guitar-driven production.

The 8-track album explores many soundscapes that are rich in texture and beauty. Tracks lie “thru” have an infectious guitar-driven melody that is complemented by ethereal synths and a fantastic beat that just adds so much dynamism to this record. The flow of this project is incredible as well, as the music continues with infectious electric guitar rhythms, keys and synths that provide a beautiful soundscape throughout. Tracks like “funky mogens” have stunning arpeggios that remind me of something off a new Radiohead album, with the beat complementing the hip-hop aesthetic that is pretty much the identity of this record. “moves” has more of a disco, new-wave feel with its thick synth leads and vocal performances, while the closer “mathgic” ends with a gorgeous indie-rock inspired track, with guitar leads and live drumming complementing each other brilliantly. This album is a wonderfully engaging one!
