London-based artist Lauren Faith comes through with a brand new 3 track project titled Cosmic EP. This is my first introduction to the artist, having seen a lot of buzz on social media about it. And well, it absolutely deserves all the hype because it’s absolutely brilliant.
Stylistically this project features some excellent electronic rhythms, with thumping beats and basslines that are accompanied by synths and vocals. “Jheeze” is produced by Kaytranada, and it’s an infectious, dance-filled track with incredibly soothing vocals from Lauren Faith, as well as a hypnotic beat to accompany the tone of the track itself. “Searching” features some excellent guitar and piano-driven melodies over a smooth and soulful instrumental, as the track is a moody, meditative yet highly energetic and engaging one. The basslines are super infectious and the tone overall is angelic. “D.M.T” features a thumping, hip-hop beat that is accompanied by gorgeous keys and synths. It’s the most spiritual and hypnotic track on this release, as we also have Lauren showcasing her aura and impeccable vocal range, bringing smooth and sensual vocals to the track. The subtle guitar rhythms are also beautiful and complement the sound to this record brilliantly.
