Music: Swarvy – Blend Special | Ep. 2

LA-based producer Swarvy comes through with another excellent beat-tape, following a string of excellent projects such as Anti-Anxiety, No. 3 | Coral Blend and No. 4 | Honey Blend (among others of course).

Blend Special | Ep. 2 sees him sample some contemporary hip-hop classics such as Kendrick Lamar’s “Momma,” Lil Uzi Vert’s “Neon Guts” and Tierra Whack’s “Dr Seuss.” The remixes and reworks are incredible, with groovy guitar and basslines throughout and a soulful tone. “LifeInTheDay” samples André 3000’s classic “A Life in the Day of Benjamin André,” with textured percussion being interwoven perfectly with his intricate flow and lyricism. This tape is a groovy and engaging listen. As usual, Swarvy shows why he’s one of the best producers working at the moment.
