KAYE is one of Singapore’s most talented musical outputs. A talented producer and DJ, he has been able to craft his own sound, bringing jazz, soul, house and world music together in an emphatic and memorable way. His new release is titled ഇന്ത്യ (Intya) and sees him explore the Indian subcontinent with three tracks of engaging, dance-heavy energy.
“Disco Dancer” brings percussion, Indian vocal samples and a hard-hitting beat to set the tone of the project. It is disco-infused and it’s definitely a highlight. “Leila” and “Oversee” follow that same vibe, with dance-heavy beats, percussion and subtle but poignant synths that give the records such upbeat energy that is beautiful and engaging listen. So big ups to KAYE for releasing these gems, and hopefully he’ll be releasing a full-length project soon!
