Music: Chewbeats – Campari Beatz Vol.1

Chewbeats is an Italian-born, London-based producer. Inspired by the likes of Madlib and Blood Orange, among others, his music features both sample-heavy sounds and live instrumentation throughout, which makes his newest release Campari Beatz Vol.1 such an engaging listen.

With soul samples and subtle drums on tracks like “Joni” and “N#76,” the album truly feels like a throwback to the past, really bringing a gorgeous, R&B filled musical soundscape that is so great to listen to. With guitar and synth leads on “se23” and “Margarita,” Chewbeats is able to create a lush, layered musical experience that really highlights his talents as a producer. There’s so much diversity in sound on this record that it’s impossible to describe in a few sentences, but I love the fact that there’s so much quality to the music here, and his vast inspirations show throughout.
