Music: Pinty – City Limits

Pinty, man. The mad talented DJ and MC comes through with a dope new EP on Peckham-based label Rhythm Section International titled City Limits. Known for his smooth vocals and his crazy, buttery flows, Pinty has been on my radar for a while now, and City Limits is the culmination of everything I love about the young talent.

Produced by the likes of Archy Marshall through his DJ JD SPORTS alias, Maxwell Owin and Oliver Palfreyman, the broken beat, garage and hip-hop style production is absolutely crazy. “Nightcrawler,” produced by Oli easily stands out to me, the beat dude… Absolutely nuts. The soulful sample, the driving and pulsating drums bring the heat. “Honey” is a previously released track with such a dope rhythm, its smooth melody is enveloped within DJ JD SPORTS’ dope production. The silky synths and keys on “Sunday Smokes” are gorgeous, and the titled track brings out an incredible jazzy rhythm accompanied by keys from Joe Armon-Jones. Another soulful track with Pinty’s introspective lyrics about life in the city.

City Limits EP is crazy, man. The energy Pinty brings to this project, accompanied by the crazy production makes this an exquisite release. Listen to Pinty’s City Limits EP below via Bandcamp, and don’t forget to support! Released on Rhythm Section International.
