Music: Barney Artist – Apologies (Single)

The anticipation for Barney Artist’s debut album Home Is Where The Art Is increases at an exponential rate after each single. The Forest Gate rapper comes through with a new one titled “Apologies” produced by one of my favourite musicians at the moment – Jake Milliner.

Barney’s introspective and personal lyrics speak on an important topic of communication. More specifically, at least to me, it speaks about the importance of being able to maintain a level of discourse with a special someone to avoid misunderstandings and later feelings on regret on certain situations, something I for one can definitely relate to. Backed by gorgeous jazzy instrumentation by Jake, who provides heavy drums and a saxophone loop that meanders through the record bringing the track to life. It’s definitely a vibe, and makes me incredibly excited for what’s to come for Barney.

The infectiously positive and soulful energy you bring through your music will shine through mate, and I can’t wait to see you blossom creatively within the next couple of years. Keep up all the hard work because we love you.
