Manchester based producer Mecca:83 aka Rise has been making waves through the underground hip-hop community for a while now. I covered his Life Sketches Vol​.​3 project he released back in December.

Midnight Radio EP is his most recent output. A short, concise but poignant 7- track project, it features hard-hitting beats, groovy-heavy basslines, soulful samples and a lot of percussive elements that elevate this project musically to sound angelic and ethereal in sound. The keys on this album as a whole are beautifully melodic, and subtle string sections also appear throughout. The Mancunian musician gets help from brothermartino on “Midnight,” Marak on “Grounded” and K, Le Maestro on “Awake.”
