Music: Mecca:83 – Life Sketches Vol.3

Mecca:83’s Live Sketches Vol.3 a release I overlooked this year, but I’m so glad I finally got to experience the full project before the end of the year. the Mancunian producer delves into a world of soulful samples, hard-hitting drum , groovy basslines and vocal snippets, bringing organic, lively and raw hip-hop sound. Contributions are plentiful, with the likes of Von Pea, Grap Luva, Jabba Tha Kut, Donald Mallroy, Matt Davies, Jesus Bachiller Bachi, Octavio Santos, Kazumi Kaneda, Handbook, Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble, Brothermartino, Scott Nelson, Maria Grigoryeva and Monma bringing their talents to the forefront.

The project feels orchestral, and Mecca:83 is the composer of this piece. Easily one of the more enjoyable and feel-good tapes I have listened to this year. Listen to Mecca:83’s Live Sketches Vol.3 on Bandcamp below. Released via NineToFive Records. The CD release is out next week (20/12) via Rockwell Products in Japan next week, followed by 7″ vinyl release in February 2018.

Hey hey hey, what's up? Thanks for stopping by. I run In Search Of Media with the aim of giving a platform to independent beatmakers, rappers and talented musicians. I also hope to make this a home for music discovery, interesting film analysis, exhibition reviews and other interesting content for all of you guys to dive in to. I run a radio show titled 'In Search Of Radio' every Sunday 7pm-9pm UK time, and hope to start a podcast and documentary-style project soon. If you're looking to be a part of this creative project, please go to the contact page and drop me an email, or connect via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I also write for 'Music Is My Sanctuary.'
