Why you should listen: London-based artist KOFI has released a new 2-track EP titled WIMTBTI​/​THE VIEW. It’s one of his more experimental releases to date, with two tracks that have more of an atmospheric, soundtrack-like quality to it. “WIMTBTI”is a drumless beat that has subtle strings and a crashing bell, with a spacious sound and KOFI’s abstract and disorienting verse complementing the sound perfectly. “THE VIEW” has a vocal sample, as well as sitar, sounds that add a mystique to the track, with KOFI’s abstract thoughts sprinkled throughout. KOFI continues to exceed expectations with new experimental releases that continue getting more and more interesting to me.
