London-based Parisian singer and songwriter Léa Sen has released a short but sweet new EP titled You Of Now, Pt. 2. Having been introduced to her music via her contributions on the latest Wu-Lu and Oscar Jerome albums, I was eager to get introduced to her incredibly soulful and soothing voice, and this 5-track project exceeds expectations. It goes without saying to check out her You Of Now Pt. 1 as well.
The 5-track project opens with “Dragonfly”, a synth and guitar-led track that is delicate and emotive, with drums that provide a slow beat that enables her to showcase the beauty and sensuality of her voice. The groovy “Again” is another poignant moment on the EP, with a bass-driven beat and ethereal guitar leads that, accompanied by her passionate singing, make for a stunningly beautiful moment on the project. “Luv Him (about u)” is a gorgeous stripped back, guitar-led love song, while “(No)” is a similarly stunning track, as her voice sounds as sweet as honey, flowing over the subtle instrumentation. “Hellcat” closes the album out beautifully, as harps meander throughout the synths and ethereal instrumentation on this track. Her vulnerabilities shine through, as the stripped back sound allows Léa Sen to serenade us with her incredible voice.
Léa Sen’s You Of Now, Pt. 2 is a stunning new EP from one of the most exciting young voices of the London soul scene. Go support!
