Music: DJ Buzz & Mono:Massive – Play

Austrian producers Mono:Massive and DJ Buzz have released a brand new collaborative album titled Play. They have created a beautifully cinematic and groovy new project that showcases their talents, perfectly capturing a soulful and ethereal vibe and aura throughout.

The old school hip-hop “Introduction” sets the tone of the album with scratching and synth leads and keys that are perfectly backed by a heavy boom-bap beat. This is basically the tone of the album throughout, with heavy, head-bobbing sounds that sound incredible. The basslines on “Beyond The Hills” are infectious, while “Mix The Funk” is an absolutely banging tune that just brings such incredible energy to the track. The thumping beat is just amazing, and the same type of production can be heard throughout on tracks like “Blurred Memories,” which has a beautiful vocal sample throughout, “Daily Ops” and “Coloured Condinuum,” with its angelic synth leads. The album is raw, unfiltered, heavy and groovy in energy. Both DJ Buzz and Mono:Massive excel on this release, providing a groovy, soulful and sample-heavy soundscape that is engaging and incredibly dense. A great release!
