Swedish producer Bella Boo comes through with her debut album titled Once Upon A Passion. The house producer is able to create moody and reflective electronic compositions that feel passionate and personal.
The opening track “Can’t Leave You Like This” is a beautiful opener, with synth leads and slow-paced rhythms that set the tone for the entire album. Tracks like “Tuesday” and “Way Chill” featuring Def Sound contain some groovy rhythms as well as percussive elements that add warmth and beauty as a whole. “Do The Right Thing” featuring Axel Bowman is another highlight for me, with it’s glittery synth leads, basslines and groovy beats. The is a subtle trumpet section that adds a jazzy touch to the record. “She’s Back!” features a more hard-hitting beat, but it breaks free from that with glossy synth leads and vocal samples throughout that add a soulful touch to the track. ” Your Girlfriend” is a dreamy cut that includes vocals that sound emotive and soulful. The closing track “Flightmode” ends the album off with energy, with a dynamic beat and colourful synth leads that perfectly add to the texture and mood to the album as a whole. Overall, Bella Boo is able to create a stunning new body of work that is emotive, rhythmic and full of personality. I look forward to hearing what she has coming up next!
