Music: ewonee . – Fakie Flip

One of my favourite producers is back with a new tape and I’m super excited. New York-based talent ewonee . has released an incredibly groovy, soulful and melodic new beat tape titled Fakie Flip. I’ve been a fan of his for a while now, and it’s projects such as Molecular Structure that have cemented him among the great producers of this generation.

This new tape features 18 tracks of incredibly groovy and hard-hitting beats. From the bass-heavy “Finally” to the jazzy and beautifully melodic “Jadasbeat,” ewonee . taps into an this immersive and incredibly engaging energy that hits so incredibly hard and really brings out a raw aesthetic. Throughout, you can hear live instrumentation being used, such as on the wonderful “Motif,” and there plenty moments on here that make my face crunch up and neck completely snap from side to side. “Tryme,” “Iphonebeats” and “Savethat” are examples of this, with banging beats that slaaaaap so hard. Overall though, ewonee . really brings the best out of himself with pure heat and nothing less. A true beatsmith that deserves all the praise in the world.
