Music: Chief & Marcel Polaire – BPLM

Lausanne, Switzerland based musician Chief teams up with fellow rapper Marcel Polaire for a brand new EP titled BPLM. I’m familiar with the Swiss producer, who has released some stellar projects in the past, so I was intrigued to hear what he had in store.

The EP features 3 original tracks, with instrumental and a Capella additions. “BPLM part.1” starts the album off with electronic glitches and effects, as well as synth keys that add texture and colour to the instrumental. Marcel Polaire starts rhyming slowly in French, as the track builds instrumentally and Marcel continues to spit brilliantly throughout. The guitar leads throughout are pretty great too. “BPLM part.2” features harder-hitting synths and effects throughout and a more menacing flow from Marcel. “Dimitri” is another heavier track, with synth leads and melodies that complement Marcel Polaire’s vocal contributions. Overall, this is a good EP showcasing both artists talents and the tight chemistry between them.
