Music: Moses Boyd – Stranger Than Fiction (Single)

Talented London-based drummer, producer and composer Moses Boyd has come through with a brand new single titled “Stranger Than Fiction.” Having been a big fan of his solo work through albums such as Displaced Diaspora (also one of my favourite albums of 2018), I have anticipated almost every release from the young artist, and this new single is fantastic.

The track starts off with an angelic tone, with keys and synths swirling around and subtle cymbals throughout, before jumping straight into this heavy drum groove that feels very hip-hop and even a little trap inspired, with the hi hats ringing in between. The lavish horn sections add a grand, powerful energy to the track, while the subtle guitar leads add texture and beauty throughout. The harsh and almost abrasive drums and basslines on this track make this a rumbling, electrifying track, and I cannot wait to hear more Moses Boyd music soon.
