Berlin/Paris based producer Bluestaeb has come through with a collaborative project titled She with Nottingham-based singer Harleighblu. It’s a stellar project with hard-hitting drums and gorgeous synth and key-heavy compositions, a true joy to listen to.
From the get-go, the drums and rhythms on “Queeen Dem” are infectious and bring such a groove and infectious energy to the table. Harleighblu’s vocals on this track and throughout the album are wonderful, as she brings a quirkiness and confidence to the table that I haven’t heard in a while from other artists. Tracks like “One Rule” are more slower-paced in tone and rhythm, while “Stay The Same” and “Too Young” are groovy and utterly soulful tracks, with the latter one sounding like some 2000s era D’Angelo groove. The album as a whole is cohesive and again, beautifully produced, and I’m glad to be able to experience the two talents at the height of their creative powers.
