Stockholm-based producer Max I Million has come through with his debut album titled We Own The Night. After releasing some stellar music in the past, including the fantastic Cigars EP, the talented musician is back with a new release that sounds cohesive and polished in sound.
With 12 stellar tracks, Max I Million is able to craft a project with hard-hitting drums and boom-bap production, as well as funky and groovy compositions. “We Own The Night” starts off the album with a high, G-Funk inspired anthem featuring Iceberg Sound System, who really bring this atmospheric, infectious sound. Throughout the album, different influences and sounds can be heard. 8-bit Dibia$e inspired production is heard on tracks like “Next Level Shit,” while angelic, soulful production can be heard on tracks like “Coupe Deville” with Tristate and Planet Asia, as well as “Another Morning” with Blu. The funk on “Raindrops (Remix)” is fantastic, while the fast-paced rhythms on “Late Night Habits” are great. Overall, Max I Million has come through with an excellent project with a lot of highlights. I really do hope that more people discover this rising talent, as he has a bright future ahead.
