Music: Ebo Taylor – Palaver (1980 Reissue)

Ghanaian legend Ebo Taylor has released absolute classics throughout the 70s and 80s. His 1980 Palaver is an album that was once shelved and unreleased for decades, but has finally found the light of day thanks to BBE Records. It’s a colourful and raw album that’s infectious and showcases exactly why Ebo Taylor is one of the most celebrated artists in the country.

The groovy guitar rhythms and infectious guitar rhythms throughout the album, especially on “Palaver” and “Make You No Mind” are infectious, bringing such beautiful energies throughout. The soul and brilliant, mesmeric energy that Ebo Taylor and his wonderful band have created on this album and many more releases in the past is what makes him such a legend, a true representation of Ghanaian music and culture. This release is an excellent one.
