Multi instrumentalist Run Child Run (real name Ian Sims), has released a brand new album titled Peace Process, a gorgeously textured electronic album with soulful synths and vocals that add depth and undeniable beauty to his music.
“Yaman” kicks the album off with incredible electronic rhythms that sound like an angelic harp communicating with a higher power. It is a transcendent moment, an aura that continues throughout the album on soulful tracks such as “Reflection,” with smooth vocals that capture a moody and a reflective (no pun intended) tone. The electronic rhythms that follow on “Must I” are hypnotic, as Ian’s melodic and stunning singing complements the track’s emotive tone. “Prayer” features EL Tsid, who provides stellar vocals over soothing, synth and key-heavy instrumentation. The beats throughout the rest of the album are slower in pace, but bring out an eerie yet warm and welcome sound, with subtle basslines on tracks like “Monsoon,” and more guitar heavy melodies on tracks like “We.” The electronic and synth-heavy tone on the final two tracks “Home” and “Untitled (part II)” make for emotive, rather grand closers to the album. Run Child Run is able to evoke an emotive sound that is relatable and incredibly soft, highlighting his talents as a producer and songwriter. An excellent release that deserves all the support he can get.
