Music: Various Artists – Transitions (Stay Cool Compilation)

I’ve been a fan of Stay Cool, a movement led by creative polymath Sean Grannum aka seangran, since 2017. He has done so much in that time, releasing 3 compilation albums with some of the best beatmakers in the world, done events in the UK and abroad as well as keeping the Stay Cool podcast/show alive on a monthly basis.

Transitions is the new 24-track compilation album featuring the likes of Mecca:83, Tek.lun, More//Night, K the Infinite & Darkos Strife, LOELASH, DIPS & Lo-Wu, AJMW, Blue Canariñho and much more. These artists, some of which are friends of mine, are emblematic of the incredible creativity coming out of the UK. The synth, bass and dance-heavy beat of kenzel’s “never enough” is an example of the dynamic and exciting sound that’s present throughout the project. ElMari’s excellent “free” is another one of my favourites, with vocal samples as well as smooth and soulful synths that add texture to the record. Overall, Transitions is an excellent compilation album featuring some of the best in UK Garage, Trap, House and Hip-Hop. Shoutout to Stay Cool for this project!

Listen to Transitions below via Bandcamp and don’t forget to support! Released via Stay Cool.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by. I run In Search Of Media with the aim of giving a platform to independent beatmakers, rappers and talented musicians. I also hope to make this a home for music discovery, interesting film analysis, exhibition reviews and other interesting content for all of you guys to dive in to. I hope to start a podcast and documentary-style project soon. If you're looking to be a part of this creative project, please go to the contact page and drop me an email, or connect via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I also write for 'Music Is My Sanctuary.' Thanks 🙏
