New York-based rapper Rome Streetz released a stellar new album titled noise kandy 3 back in July. This is my first introduction to the talented emcee and wow, it really is an incredible project. With introspective lyricism and soulful production, this album is one to remember. It’s just phenomenal.
Tracks like “Seizure” and “Rich Porter or Pookie” are incredibly smooth and soulful records that feature some incredibly personal and vivid lyricism from the talented rapper. Producers throughout the album include Messiah Musik, wavy da ghawd, Vinyl Villain & Loman, Statik Selektah, Level 13, Sadhugold, Futurewave, Tru mentillz, Dirty Diggz and JR Swiftz. Each producer was essential to the incredibly soulful and rich sound of the project, with textured instrumentals that put more emphasis on melody than actual beats. Rome Streetz’s incredibly vivid lyricism and impeccable flows throughout the album make this such a captivating listen. – “Been through hell and back / Felon raps / Selling packs / Fiends rip the bag open and smoke it until they melon crack / Never lack / Black MAC-11 for the devil / Trying to rise up a level / Only find me where the cheddar at.” I mean, come on man… The flow and incredibly intricate wordplay throughout just makes my jaw drop. Features Al Divino, Bubba Rock, Mooch and Planet Asia also bring heat to the album with their confident and menacing verses. Overall, Rome Streetz comes through with some absolute heat on noise kandy 3, and his future is looking very, very bright.
