Ghanaian producer Gafacci comes through with a brand new project titled Tash BNM EP. This is my first introduction to the talented producer, and with this new project, he really impresses with a colourful, synth-heavy sound that sounds fresh and incredibly catchy.
Just 4 tracks in length, Tash BNM EP keeps the energy up and exciting throughout. With synth-filled grooves, heavy 808s and basslines, these tracks are beautiful and catchy, as he is able to bring influences from afrobeats to electronic music at the forefront of this musical experience. “Afro Lofi” features Chefbanku and Nii Quaye, who provide smooth and soulful vocals to the slow paced, moody track. It’s a stellar opening, with guitar leads coming through to provide more soothing and captivating melodies. “Like Water” features Amaarae, and bring moody, synth-heavy melodies and an inspiring vocal performance from the talented singer. The guitar leads on “Lavapies” are absolutely sublime. For that reason it’s my favourite track on the album. It’s an awe-inspiring track with such a beautiful aura that it just gives me chills every time I listen to it. “Same Vibe” features verses from Tinuke & Lazee, who provide colour and character to the subdued beat.
Overall, Gafacci kills it with his new release, one I feel I will play for a while. Listen to Tash BNM EP below via Bandcamp and don’t forget to support!
