London based producer, singer, super talented all around musician Emmavie is releasing her highly anticipated debut album titled Honeymoon on the 22nd August through one of my favourite labels Fresh Selects. Despite being a big fan of her music, I have not properly supported her and her music, but it’s never too late, right?
She has released her first official single from her upcoming album titled “High Off This,” and as usual it is a beautiful, soulful, textured and layered record. With gorgeous keys and a dynamic groove from the get go, the singer is able to sing freely over the colourful and textured beat. It is of course produced by her as well, which is most often the case with her music. A hard-hitting beat, subtle but present basslines and synth leads throughout make for an engaging, memorable listen. It’s a funky, upbeat and feel-good track that is reflective of her lyrical themes of love and being in a state of bliss. This definitely gets me even more excited about Emmavie’s new album, and I’m totally here to see her blossom into the incredibly gifted artist that she is. The legend Knxwledge flipped her track “Oops,” on his recent tape, which you can check out here.
