Music: Banshee – Thought Bubbles EP

British producer Banshee comes through with a new project titled Thought Bubbles EP, a glossy electronic release featuring vocal snippets from the depth of the internet, looping them beautifully over hard-hitting electronic rhythms. This is my first introduction to the talented musician, and these 4 tracks are engaging and fun to listen to.

From the angelic vocal sample on “Thought Bubble,” with the smooth synths and powerful basslines, to the harder-hitting groove of “Ecstasy Baby,” this is a really layered, textured project. “Heart Container” is my favourite, with its subtle vocal samples and glittery and scattered synths and beats. “Thought Bubble 2” ends with a sweet and soulful R&B vocal sample that is overpowering throughout the track. The track changes tempo near the middle, with a Juke and Footwork-inspired beat. Overall, this is a fun and engaging listen that is a great introduction to the producer’s music.
