Music: Captain Over – Deep Blue EP

Leeds based producer Captain Over is back with a brand new EP titled Deep Blue following an excellent string of projects over the last few years, including this years’ Better EP. Always exceeding my expectations with electronic, house-inspired tunes, I was looking forward to what he had in store with us for this release, and he does not disappoint.

The single that came out of this project was incredible. “Deep Blue” has thick synths and bass-heavy beats that provide a moody atmospheric sound that I absolutely love. The sonic arrangements of this track are brilliant. Tracks like “New Life Forms” are more dynamic, with a thumping beat and thick synth leads as well as swirling electronic effects that make this track and engaging listen. “Mind’s Eye” is almost dubstep inspired with its production as it grows with melodic synth keys throughout, adding layers and textures to make it an engaging and beautiful record. “Take It Too Far” is a beautiful way to end the album, with more melodic synths that accompany the heavy production. The keys near the end of the track are so beautiful and soulful as well.

Overall, Captain Over has created another excellent project, one absolutely worthy of support, so please listen to his new project Deep Blue EP below via Bandcamp and don’t forget to support! Released via Darker Than Wax.
