LA-based musician Cakedog comes through with a brand new 20 track album titled Doggystyle. The album is devoted to Footwork & Juke music, bringing high-energy and dance-oriented tracks throughout. It’s a fun, upbeat listen that’s just perfect to dance to.
With vocal and electronic samples throughout the tracks on this album, the addicting nature of this album is what makes it such a joy to listen to. Tracks like “Know My Name” has a heavy and aggressive “BURN MOTHRRFUCKER” sample as well as unsettling siren-like synths. The intricate beat arrangements on tracks like “Move it” makes it another dynamic track on this album. The atmospheric tone of “Its You” is also fantastic, as some of the latter tracks on the album contain heavier synth melodies such as “Final Chance” and “Rocked.” With snares and hi-hats throughout, as well as high-energy beats, this release is proper banging. I don’t know what else to say, really. Just fantastic Footwork & Juke music.
