Music: Tiana Khasi – Meghalaya

Brisbane-based musician Tiana Khasi has released her debut EP titled Meghalaya. This is my first proper introduction to the talented soul singer, and I was eager to listen to this new project, produced by label mate Sampology. Safe to say, this EP exceeds all my expectations as it’s a smooth, gorgeous body of work that highlights Tiana’s aura and beauty perfectly through sweet, soulful melodies and tremendously smooth production.

The self-titled track kicks the project off with gorgeous keys and drumming that is just too good. Tiana’s voice is as sweet and soothing as honey, as she sings over the lavish, string and percussion-heavy soundscape. The aura and energy she gives out on records like “Georgia’s Track” and “Good Things” gives me goosebumps, and with 2-step and jazz-heavy production on tracks like “Nuketown” and “Whole Lotta Shine,” this EP genuinely feels like a complete body of work. A massive shoutout to Tiana, Sampology and everyone involved in the creation of this beautiful body of work, and I predict big things for her!
