Music: BROCKBEATS – SILENT TALK

Japanese producer BROCKBEATS comes through with a brand new album titled SILENT TALK. This being my first introduction to the talented musician, I was curious to hear this album, having no real expectations for it, and was pleasantly surprised. This record contains some beautiful, soulful moments that don’t rely on sampling, rather on live instrumentation through guitars and synths throughout the record.

Tracks such as “hypothermia” and “levitate” contain some heavy guitar licks that sound euphoric and subtle, bass-heavy production that is slow-burning, but gives out a smooth, melodic and meditative tone that sits with the whole album with every track. The melodies could be a simple few notes, but it’s the aura and care BROCKBEATS puts to their craft that makes it an exciting and interesting project. There’s much more I could say about the lush and layered instrumentation throughout, but I’ll just say that it’s well worth your time listening to this project, especially if you’re into slower, soulful and soothing instrumental music.
