Music: Karavelo – Ghost Lover

Karavelo is a talented producer hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. This new album Ghost Lover is my first introduction to his music and I’m really glad I discovered him. This new project from him is a vibe, and I’m really looking forward to following his journey as he continues to grow further.

At 13 tracks and 21 minutes in length, Ghost Lover is brief only in length. The music within is full of lavish instrumentals, layered and textured sounds that paint a vivid soundscape of his musical ideas in one cohesive body of work. Tracks like “Cashmere” and “Glowtape” contain sweet soul samples and vocal chops there are brilliantly executed, making for a mellow, vibe-heavy listening experience. Tracks like “Cloudy” and “Lost Delicate” on the other hand are mellow, synth-heavy pieces of music that take you on a meditative and reflective journey through time. That’s the effect these sounds have on me, and it’s truly wonderful to see such great music coming out so early this year.
