Music: Bastien Keb – Midnight Nasties EP

Releasing one of my favourite albums of last year with 22.02.85, Bastien Keb is back with a sweet new EP titled Midnight Nasties. As usual, the focus with this project is the emphasis on off-beat instrumentation, which includes quirky but catchy synths and a soothing vocal performances from Bastien himself. Whether it’s the slow but beautiful growth of “Cool It” to the 80s-inspired sound of “Her,” the tracks here are infectiously groovy. “Oteh Washington” is slow but incredibly smooth with it’s synth leads, keys, guitar leads and Bastien’s harmonious singing.

Midnight Nasties EP is a fantastic project that expands from the experimentation of his last full-length project, and it highlights Bastien’s talents as a musician and composer. He continues to grow from strength to strength, so do not sleep on his music.
